Hawaii

First stop: Hawaii

We are staying at an AirBnB in Lanikai, a small neighborhood near Kailua on the east side of Oahu. Our place is equipped with kayaks, SUPs, surfboards, bikes, and all the beach toys you could dream of.

While Sinead works, I get to stand up paddle with the many sea turtles and go on walks on the beach.

Sinead's friend, Kelsey, (and her 2 year old son, Makai) lives here so we stayed with her a couple nights and she guided us on a hike to Pillboxes to get an aerial view of the turquoise beaches.

We kayaked out to Na Mokulua, the mini islands off Lanikai, where we got to lounge and have a picnic lunch in the "Queen's bath."

Other highlights were biking around town and getting fresh ahi poke bowls for lunch, going to Bellows beach with a group of friends, eating where Michelle Obama and Hillary Clinton ate, and sunset picnics on the beach.

On our final day at our first destination we went free diving/snorkeling with Galapagos sharks off the coast of the North Shore. The visibility in the deep blue waters was amazing and we were surrounded by 4 sharks peacefully circling around.

Next, off to Sydney, Australia!
